Last night, J.R. and I went with some friends to see Kris Delmhorst and Jeffrey Foucault at the Tractor Tavern. I think it goes without saying that it was the awesome, but I'll say it anyway. I didn't actually know anything about Jeffrey Foucault before I saw him, but I was quickly won over. (Plus, he's married to Kris, so you know he can't suck.) I walked away with his Ghost Repeater album and Kris's latest EP, Horses Swimming. And then I made J.R. listen to my old Kris albums on the iPod on the way home.
It was really nice to sit and listen to live music again, which I don't think I've done since I left Boston. However, the crowd freaked me out a little bit as there were many, ah, older people there. I listened to Kris in college! What happened to all the college kids that used to be at her shows? Have they grown old ... like me? I spotted more younger people at the back when they had a set break, which made me feel better. Or at least, not quite so ancient.
