Like it's got no soul

I tried watching season one of Mad Men, and I gotta say: I'm not loving it. I can recognize that the writing seems good and the acting seems good and the design is heavenly, but there's no there there for me. I don't like any of the characters, and not just because the era-appropriate misogyny grates on me, though it does. I just don't have any desire to see them again, and I don't have any curiosity to find out what happens next. It's similar to how I feel about the Sopranos. Yeah, I can recognize that it's a cut above Two and Half Men, but I just don't give a shit.
