While Sam was making quick work of a new friendship with Kingston, Jen and I were busy keeping our old friends. I started the day off with a catch-up lunch with my good friend Liz, who is hard to keep up with since she defected to western Mass. Somehow, it seems very, very far away. It is, however, closer than upstate New York, from whence Kingston's masters came. Luckily, they, too, have recently moved to western Mass, so now we get to have lots of playdates with Kingston and Sam and lots of dinners with wine and homemade bread for the grownups. It's funny how you don't realize how much you miss your friends until you see them again.
