Just like coming home

Today was the season opener for BC women's basketball, and while it wasn't exactly brilliant basketball, it was good to be back at Conte Forum. (It was also good to get the win.) Pam and I have had the same seats for a few years now as season-ticket holders, and when we walked down to them, the whole gang was there. By the "whole gang" I mean, relatively complete strangers who happen to sit near us with whom Pam and I talk basketball for five months every year. I don't know their names, but I trust their judgement on ball handlers, post defenders, and the coach's mood. We've got a lot of first-year Eagles starting this season, so it's going to be an interesting ride. It's good to have some familiar faces on the journey.
