Snow bound
Usually, I pride myself on being not stupid enough to travel in the snow. Today was no exception -- I knew I was headed to Lowell for tree-trimming family goodness, but I planned to leave early enough to beat everything but the first dusting home. Sadly, this did not work out. I was enjoying myself so much -- stringing lights with my little sister, hanging ornaments that I had made when I was 8, adjusting the garland just so, talking trash about everyone else's ornament-placement choice -- that I forgot about the snow until we already had several inches. I immediately headed out and the 45-minute drive took me about two and half hours; I was lucky when I got up to third gear. Actually, I was lucky I made it home. And now I don't intend to move until the spring thaw.
