Well, the Massachusetts Supreme Court ruled that banning gay marriage is illegal according to the current state constitution. They didn't go ahead and pass out marriage licenses, but tasked the legislature with coming up with a solution. So, the legislature can pull a Vermont and go with civil unions or they can amend the state constitution to define marriage as between "one man and one woman." What kind of definition of marriage is that? How can any one (homo, hetero, metro, what-the-f-ever) be happy with that as a definition of marriage? "Yeah, we don't care if there's love or a family or anything important -- just so long as the sex of the individuals fits our narrow-ass preconceived notions of coupledom."
But, wait, this is my happy post. Yay! Gay marriage!
